Why Earth to Soul Emporium?

🌲 The Roots of the Journey

I have loved stones my entire life, but it wasn't until I experienced a sudden, life-altering health crisis in October 2021 that I truly understood their grounding power. In an instant, the world I knew—my independence, my clarity, and the career path I had set out on when I graduated on the Dean's Honour Role as a Registered Dental Hygienist ten years ago—was completely stripped away.

Navigating the aftermath, I had to learn how to walk, talk, and think all over again through a heavy fog of recovery. In that quiet space, I dove into working with gemstone chips. It wasn’t just a craft; it was a clinical, neurobiological necessity. Moving those natural stones with my fingers became the literal lifeline for the "re-firing" of my brain—a physical way to map new neural pathways through the wreckage of the storm. For years, I explored different creative mediums tiny bit by tiny bit, gathering tools in a quiet sandbox of survival.

But today, the sandbox is closed. This is me starting completely anew with absolute, fierce intention.

🧠 The Foundation: Science Meets Spirit

My silent years weren't just spent resting; they were spent in deep, obsessive study. For over 10 years, I have taken a "brain-first" dive into the neurobiology of trauma, childhood development, and nervous system regulation. I immersed myself in thousands of hours of research—deeply anchored by the work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk (The Body Keeps the Score), Dr. Gabor Maté, Dr. Bruce Perry, and the deeply transformative "Re-Parenting" foundations of Tim Fletcher.

I took that profound understanding of how the body and brain heal from trauma and bridged it with the ancient history of gems, mineralogy, and grounding frequencies. The foundation of the Emporium is where this great analytical, clinical mind of a Dental Hygienist meets the fiercely intuitive heart of an artisan and patternweaver.

🔨 The Practice: Intentionally Unshaped

My very first official style, In the Raw, is a direct reflection of this lived philosophy and serves as the opening chapter of the Emporium.

In a world that demands cookie-cutter perfection, I intentionally curate gemstone chip beads that are completely unshaped, jagged, and rugged—left exactly as nature formed them. They arrive at my bench carrying a beautiful, glossy polish that highlights their deep, hidden patterns, yet they remain fiercely organic. This debut line is unique: it is the only collection in my business that will be made solely of chip beads. But while this first line sets our foundation, it does not dictate the whole business. Earth to Soul Emporium is built to breathe, to shift, and to flow. I am not forcing a rigid plan for what comes next; this business is an evolving landscape that moves as I move.

My work at the bench is about intentional framing. By pairing these wild, asymmetrical stones with clean, structured silver metalwork and precise assembly, I highlight the contrast between the chaos of nature and the intention of the maker.

🤍 A Different Me: Facing the Reality

I tried to launch this business a few times in the past, but the time wasn't aligned, and the momentum fizzled out. Times when I had people by my side for support I blossomed, and times it was just easier to do it on my own, stretching for sunlight. For years, my ultimate dream was to own a non-traditional brick-and-mortar storefront—spaces like MWM and Willow Dawn are entrepreneurs I deeply respect.

But I have had to face a hard reality: my health has changed the rules of the game. I don't drive. I can't work a traditional standard job like others can. I no longer have a personal income. So, “one day this will pay off,” I tell myself. My day has come, and it is here to share with the world. You see, the riches aren't things you can hold in your hand and discard. They are what flows between people, enriching us to bloom one seed at a time.

This time, it is a completely different me stepping up to the board. I am no longer trying to fix or out-run my reality. I am surrendering to a new rhythm.

Earth to Soul Emporium is built to be an intimate, multi-channel digital and personal experience. Through my website, email community, and social media, I invite you entirely behind the scenes of my raw creative process and studio renovation. From this digital hearth, my work flows out into the world via private studio appointments, phone or video consultations, curated local artisan shops, and intentional pop-up events.

💫 My Commitment to You

When you run your fingers over the rugged, unshaped contours of an Earth to Soul piece, I want that tactile texture to be a physical reminder of your own resilience. It is entirely okay to have rough edges. It is beautiful to be a work in progress. When you catch the flash of light on these raw stones, you are carrying a piece of a slow, intentional victory.

I remind myself of this truth every single day: Today is today, and tomorrow is tomorrow. Today, I am here. Tomorrow, I will be a ripple.

Welcome to the circle. We are all learning, all growing, and all finding our way back to our own internal light.
